Forza Horizon 3 PC Requirements Announced

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forza Horizon 3 has gone gold
  • Microsoft has announced what kind of PC you'll need to play it
  • Forza Horizon 3 is available from September 23
One of the standout games of E3 2016 was Forza Horizon 3. Along with hitting the Xbox One, the game will be coming to Windows 10 PCs. Microsoft announced what kind of PC you'll need to get the best out of it.
Unlike Halo 5: Forge which saw minimum, recommended, and ultra PC requirements listed, all we have for Forza Horizon 3 are its recommended requirements. This will allow you to play the game at 1920x1080 although there's no mention of what graphical preset or frame rate you'd be able to achieve.
The recommended specifications are as follows:
CPU: i7 3820 @ 3.6GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970 or NVIDIA GTX 1060/AMD R9 290X or AMD RX 480
VRAM: 4GB
RAM: 12GB
Available Space: 55 GB
OS: Windows 10 Anniversary Edition 64-bit 14393.101

And while little to no information on what to expect in terms of video options has been explicitly listed, the company gave a hint of what to expect.
"Forza Horizon 3 players will have a tremendous amount of adjustment options when playing on Windows 10. From basic options like full screen, vertical sync, and resolution, to more advanced adjustments like quality settings for motion blur, mirrors, reflection, static and dynamic geometry, we’re giving Windows 10 players the power to play the way they want," posted Microsoft's Brian Ekberg. "Whether playing on the recommended specs or pushing the hardware limits to deliver the ultimate 4K racing experience, Forza Horizon 3 players will have lots of options for making the most of their experience."
In addition to this, the game has gone gold which means that main development is done and it's been sent to be put on discs and uploaded on digital storefronts.
Furthermore, the most famous ground vehicle in the Halo universe - the Warthog will be drivable minus its trademark turrets we've seen in the Halo games. Hopefully it won't be as painful to control as it was in Halo.
Forza Horizon 3 is out on September 27, and it's out a full four days earlier if you pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition digitally.
